The Inspection

Our inspection is documented, repeatable, and completed in full on every device. Below is a breakdown of the 69 core checks across 13 areas — the full process includes additional sub-checks per port, key, and component.
Device Identity & Ownership
Serial number, model, chip, RAM, and storage all verified. Activation Lock, MDM enrollment, and Find My status checked before anything else. Any device that fails ownership checks is rejected immediately — no exceptions.
Display & Screen
Inspected under torch lighting for dead pixels, stuck pixels, backlight bleed, burn, and scratches. Any crack results in immediate rejection. Standards differ by tier — Pristine requires a flawless screen.
Chassis & Body
Every surface inspected for scratches, dents, and damage. Hinge tested across 10 open/close cycles. Port areas checked for corrosion or bending. Any cracked casing means automatic rejection.
Keyboard & Trackpad
Every key individually tested. Backlight zones checked for evenness. Trackpad surface and click feel verified across the full surface area.
Battery
Battery health percentage and exact cycle count recorded. Charge and discharge tested. Pristine units must meet ≥85% health. Certified ≥75%. Refurbished ≥60%.
Display & GPU
Full white and full black screen tests run to catch blotches and bleed invisible in normal use. Colour accuracy, brightness range, and GPU stress test all completed.
Storage
S.M.A.R.T status verified. Real-world read and write speeds tested. Capacity confirmed against listed specification.
Memory
RAM size confirmed. Full memory stress test run — zero errors required to pass.
Ports & Connectivity
Every USB-C and Thunderbolt port physically tested. MagSafe, headphone jack, and SD slot verified where applicable. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth tested for stable connection.
Audio & Camera
Both speaker channels tested. Microphone recorded and played back. Camera checked for clarity and distortion.
System & Thermals
Apple Diagnostics run first. CPU stress test completed. Fan operation monitored. Full shutdown, clean restart, and sleep/wake cycles all verified.
Touch ID & Input
Touch ID enrolled and tested. Every individual keyboard key verified. All function keys confirmed working.
Repair & Service History
Internal inspection for prior repairs. Non-original parts are documented and reflected honestly in tier assignment. Liquid damage results in rejection or Refurbished-only classification.
